The Old Cider House is a 4 star bed and breakfast in the heart of the Village of Nether Stowey, Quantock Hills, Somerset. With its five en suite bedrooms, owners Ian and Lynne welcome guests looking for a relaxing bed and breakfast break in their period guesthouse. If you’re looking for accommodation in the Quantocks then Nether Stowey is the ideal village location. Built in 1910, the guesthouse was originally a cider house serving the village of Nether Stowey and surrounding Somerset villages in the Quantock Hills. It was converted into a B&B in 2002 and has since welcomed both leisure and business guests in need of quality bed and breakfast accommodation in the heart of Somerset. The Quantock Hills are on the doorstep of the B&B and the village of Nether Stowey boasts three real ale pubs and a bistro all of which are less than a few minutes walk from the bed and breakfast. Castle Room This is our premium bedroom with a sumptuous four-poster bed. All our rooms have television and video player/recorder, but this room also has a DAB digital radio, filter coffee facilities, a decanter of sherry - all that you expect from a luxury break in a country guesthouse. Quantock Room This is our new premium double (formerly a twin). Recently decorated with a king-size bed, sumptuous bed-linen, leather armchairs giving a feel of relaxed comfort. Fitted with a flat-screen television (with Freeview), CD player and a fantastic view of Nether Stowey in this bright and airy room - Oh, and there's some sherry as well. Poets Room Samuel Taylor Coleridge lived for three years just around the corner in Lime Street and wrote some of his most famous poems whilst living in the village. To continue with the Coleridge connection this beautiful double room has a wall covered with poems written by guests - all of whom are invited to contribute - so bring a quill! Orchard Room We've recently refurbished this room to give it a more Edwardian feel. Period apple and cider prints adorn the walls giving a sense of the house's history. The room is situated on the ground floor with a mobility accessible bathroom. This is also our dog friendly room as it stays cool throughout the year and has no direct sunlight - however, in the winter it is our warmest room.
